Common Questions

Urgent Care FAQs

Do I need an appointment for urgent care?

No. We accept walk-in patients for urgent care during regular business hours (Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM). Patients are triaged by severity — life-threatening cases are seen first.

What should I do if my pet has an emergency after hours?

If your pet needs emergency care after our business hours, please contact a 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital in The Woodlands or Conroe area. Call ahead when possible so staff can prepare for your arrival.

What is the difference between urgent care and emergency care?

Urgent care addresses serious conditions that need same-day attention but are not immediately life-threatening — such as a limping pet or minor wound. Emergency care is for life-threatening situations such as respiratory distress, collapse, or severe trauma. We handle both during business hours.

Do you treat horses or large animals?

Woodforest Animal Hospital specializes in small animal care (dogs and cats). For equine and large animal urgent care, please visit our sister clinic Lone Star Equine at lonestarvet.com, located at the same address.
